Chelsea is having a poor English Premier League season. The Blues have struggled with form and consistency and are far away from the European qualification race for the next year. However, they played well in their last fixture against Aston Villa on Saturday as they earned a 2-2 draw against one of the most informed teams in the PL. Mauricio Pochettino's side could have won at Villa Park as they dominated the game but failed to capitalise on their chances.

The West London side scored the winner in the added time of the game but the goal was ruled out due to a foul on Villa's defender. Meanwhile, Cole Palmer has been in brilliant form in the season as he is the joint-leading goal scorer in the league with 20 goals alongside Erling Haaland. The 21-year-old winger has been carrying the team on his shoulder in the league. However, he had a cold match at the weekend.

Palmer was furious with himself as the star player missed one golden opportunity to give the lead to the side. After the game, he had some arguments with the head coach's assistant. At full time the Blues players rushed towards referee Craig Pawson after he disallowed the last-minute winner of the club for a foul on Diego Carlos.

During the incident, Blues assistant coach Jesus Perez was also at the scene and pulled his players away from the match officials. Irrespective of keeping all his players, the English winger made his way towards the referee to have a word with him but was also pushed away by Perez. The push from the Spaniard was not liked by the Englishman, and the pair had a short enraged confrontation. However two Chelsea FC officials had to separate the two and this altercation shows that how the season has gone so far.

The home side opened the scoring in the 4th minute of the game after Lucas Digne's cross was met by John McGinn whose shot got deflected from Marc Cucurella's leg and went inside. Despite piling on the pressure the away side could not find an opening and against the run of play Morgan Rogers made it 2-0. In the second half, the Blues kept on the pressure and scored two goals in 19 minutes making it 2-2.
