Chelsea has withdrawn from consideration to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise. Last Thursday, the west London club got in touch with Palace to let them know they were interested in Olise and to want to talk with his team. Chelsea stated they needed a resolution by the conclusion of this week, and that request was granted.

Chelsea offered what they thought was their best offer, but they decided not to move forward because they thought the costs would be too high. The Chelsea management wants to build a more conservative pay sheet compared to past seasons, and if the player of their choice doesn't fit that mould, they'd prefer to invest in new, elite talent at more affordable rates or reward current players who outperform over time.

There is no denying Chelsea's interest in Olise, but the ideal circumstances have to exist because of the possible effects on the depth and balance of their squad. They already have Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Omari Hutchinson, and Angelo Gabriel as left-footed forwards. In 2025, Kendry Paez and Estevao Willian are expected to follow the same route.

Who are Chelsea targeting in the summer transfer window?

A remarkable inquiry regarding a FC Barcelona wonderkids has come from Chelsea. Even though Chelsea has already spent a lot of money during Todd Boehly's ownership, incoming Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca wants to add more players this summer in preparation for the 2024–2025 campaign.

As reported by Spanish reporter Guillem Balague, Chelsea is looking to strengthen their front line. He says the Blues intend to recruit Marc Guiu from Barcelona. The 18-year-old forward allegedly carries a €6 million release clause, according to Balague. The journalist wrote on X that, "Chelsea have asked about 18 year old Marc Guiu, the young FCB striker who had such an impressive start of his career with the first team. He only cost €6m and are considering signing him! Great investment, cannot go wrong as his value will increase either at Chelsea or by selling him eventually."
