The Trent Rockets, Champions of The Hundred in 2022 and featuring former England captain Joe Root among their centrally contracted players, and are reportedly valued at £80 million. This valuation means that Boehly and his associates will invest approximately £40 million to acquire a 49 per cent stake in the team. While Boehly will have significant influence over major decisions at Trent Bridge, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club will maintain a controlling 51 per cent share in the Rockets. This acquisition comes as other affluent investors have already injected capital into competing franchises.

According to The Telegraph, Todd Boehly, was instrumental in the takeover of Premier League club Chelsea in May 2022, also showed interest in acquiring the London Spirit and Oval Invincibles but was ultimately outbid for these franchises.

Boehly-led regime at Stamford Bridge has invested significantly in Chelsea, with over £1 billion allocated to transfers. While the team continues to develop its squad, fans are looking forward to seeing this investment translate into major trophies in the future.
