After leaving Real Madrid's match against Mallorca in the Spanish Super Cup semifinal, Fede Valverde was deemed a serious doubt for Sunday's matchup with Barcelona. In less than 48 hours, Valverde recovered, though, and is now well enough to participate on Sunday.

Kylian Mbappe has had trouble adjusting to his new environment after completing his eagerly awaited transfer to Real Madrid in the summer. However, the forward seems to be getting into his groove, as he helped Real Madrid move up to second position in La Liga with the first goal and an assist during the 4-2 victory over Sevilla. This puts them just one point behind leaders Atletico Madrid before the Christmas break.

Mbappe's goal demonstrated his brilliance and confirmed why he is considered one of the finest in the game. Fede Valverde commended his teammate's contribution in one interview, saying, "Kylian Mbappé? can't give advice to a player who has already won a World Cup and played in another final. He has won everything in France and is one of the best in the world; he will know what he has to do."

Several important players, notably Jude Bellingham and Fede Valverde, suffered injuries that overshadowed their 3-0 triumph over Mallorca in the semi-finals. The availability of the two players, who are essential to Los Blancos' formation, for the highly anticipated matchup against Barcelona was called into question due to injuries they sustained.

Likewise, Valerie has been essential. In 28 games this season, the Uruguayan midfielder has provided seven goals and three assists, underscoring his value in both attack and defence. Bellingham and Valverde aren't the only ones with injury worries. In the semi-final, Aurelien Tchouameni had a head injury and was replaced as a precaution.
