The match had enough action, as both sides were on a mission to score goals. In the 16th minute of the match, Ashique Kuruniyan had a long race and delivered a fine pass to Irfan Yadwad, who could not convert it into a goal. Afghanistan's Ali Reza Panaji had a good chance in the 24th minute, only to be denied by Gurpreet Singh.

Yadwad had yet another chance to score in the 26th minute, but narrowly missed the target. In the 33rd minute, Kuriniyan tried to control the ball and conver into a goal, but was stopped by Faisal Ahmad Hamidi. In the 5th extra minute of the first half, Rahul Bheke delivered a fine chance in front of the box, only for Jithin to miss it to head 0-0 into the second half.

India's efforts and changes against Afghanistan go in vain 

Khalid Jamil made six changes in the second half hoping for a better pace, which was evident. However, no chances were inverted into goals. Gurpreet came up with fine save in the 70th minute and ensured no damage was done.

In the end, neither teams were able to score a goal. India ended the group stage with a win, a loss, and a draw to their name against Tajikistan, Iran, and Afghanistan, respectively. India's fate in the remainder of the tournament will depend on Tajikistan's performance against Iran.
