In light of rumours that he might leave Arsenal in the summer, Gabriel Jesus is content at Arsenal and ready to compete for his spot. Due to his recurring knee and hamstring problems, the Gunners striker has scored just four goals across 24 English Premier League games this season.

In addition, Jesus, 27, has only started four of Arsenal's previous 13 league games; Kai Havertz is now the team's preferred centre back. This year, the German has eight Premier League goals.

According to reports, manager Mikel Arteta may think about selling the striker in the coming window, should any great offers come in. Jesus signed for £45 million from Manchester City in July 2022 but the move hasn’t worked out well so far for the Gunners.

Jesus’ first Premier League start of this season did not come until September 24 after needing minor surgery on his recurring knee problems. A hamstring injury on October 24 away at Sevilla in the Champions League kept him out for another month, before a second knee setback in late January at Nottingham Forest.

But SunSport is aware that Jesus is firmly established in North London and has absolutely no desire to move, prepared to work hard to earn back a spot in the starting lineup. Arteta is still a major admirer of Jesus, especially for his guidance, outlook, and influence on the younger players at Arsenal.

Will Arsenal still sign a striker in the summer transfer window?

The Spanish coach's intentions to sign a top-tier No. 9 in the upcoming months are probably not going to be affected by this. Club executives acknowledge this area as maybe the last missing piece in the quest for big accolades in Europe as well as at home.

Currently under observation are Alexander Isak of Newcastle United, Benjamin Sesko of Red Bull Leipzig, and Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting Lisbon. All the options on their radar are expensive and they might have to make a hefty spend to sign the right striker.
