The 2024 UEFA Champions League final involving Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund has already given us some intriguing scenarios. For example, the Spanish giants are expected to pay an additional sum to the German club for the Jude Bellingham move.

Last summer, Los Blancos signed the Englishman from Dortmund for €103 million, with an additional 30% (€30.9 million) in add-ons. And it appears that one of these provisions has currently been triggered.

According to German newspaper BILD, one of the perks included in the agreement was that Dortmund would receive €25 million should Real Madrid win LaLiga or the UEFA Champions League over the next six years.

Because Carlo Ancelotti's side won the LaLiga title in Bellingham's inaugural campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid would have had to give Dortmund the additional incentive.

In opposition to Madrid's free-scoring passage from their group, Dortmund scored merely seven goals in six games but maintained a tight defensive line, conceding only four. Both teams had to fight to make it through the knockout stages to get to the final, though.

Jude Bellingham’s impressive first season in-charge

The financial specifics are unknown, but it is safe to assume Bellingham's accomplishments in the Spanish capital benefits Dortmund. Of course, the forthcoming UEFA Champions League final is going to be an exception, with the Germans aiming for a second European title.

While Bellingham's signing seemed promising, nobody expected the English midfielder to create such a quick effect at the Bernabeu. The 20-year-old has demonstrated an undiscovered facet of his game by being incredibly productive for the Merengue during his debut year with the club.

Jude has 22 goals this season, which is just two short of the 24 he scored for Dortmund between 2020 and 2023. Bellingham came up big in key moments of the season, scoring game-winning goals during both Clasicos versus FC Barcelona in LaLiga. His stock has risen dramatically at Madrid, and the near future seems much brighter
