Borussia Dortmund defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final on Wednesday at Signal Iduna Park. The Black and Yellow side completely dominated the French champions, but the scoreline does not give light on the same as the home side missed chances as Niclas Fullkrug the difference maker for the game could have scored a hattrick on the night.

They were the underdogs coming to the knockouts defeated Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals and are ahead after the 1st leg of the semi-final. With a lead, they will be hoping to score at the Parc des Princes and qualify for the final of the UCL after almost a decade. Mats Hummels was named the Player of the Match after his brilliant display in defence. However, someone who was as amazing as Hummels on the night was Jadon Sancho. The English winger danced through the defence of the French club.

Sancho who is on loan from Manchester United once again proved the critics wrong as he displayed an excellent brand of football at the Iduna Park. He was signed by the Red Devils back in 2021 but could not fit well under Erik ten Hag and was omitted from the first team due to an issue with the coach, as the Dutch coach removed him from the senior team photo session. However, since returning to his former club he has been exceptional for them.

Dortmund seeks an apology after Sancho's brilliant display

In an all-important semi-final clash, he had 12 successful dribbles in a single game the most by any player on the field and became the first player since Lionel Messi who did it back in 2008 against Manchester United. The 24-year-old winger might return to Old Trafford after the end of his loan spell in Germany.

After his amazing game on Wednesday, the club tweeted stating "You all owe him an apology, we were ALWAYS familiar with his game." However, it will be interesting to watch if he wants to play under ten Hag next season or remain at Dortmund. Sancho will be eager to get into the squad of England for the upcoming Euros 2024 in Germany.
