Bayern Munich and Joshua Kimmich reach a verbal agreement amidst transfer chaos

Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich's future has been uncertain for some time now. The Germany international is a world-class player and has consistently performed at the highest level in the Bundesliga for many years. In January, Kimmich entered the final six months of his contract with Bayern, leading to links with several prominent clubs. 

Kimmich has netted a total of 43 goals and provided 114 assists in 427 fixtures for Bayern Munich. The talented single pivot had garnered attention from several top European clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Liverpool.

Kimmich extends his stay at Allianz Arena 

Arsenal Insider had revealed that Arsenal engaged in discussions with Joshua Kimmich regarding a potential transfer in the upcoming summer window, alongside interest from other clubs. However, it appears that the talented German midfielder has opted to remain at Allianz Arena.

On Thursday, Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg reported on X that a verbal agreement had been reached between FC Bayern and Joshua Kimmich for a new contract extending until 2029.

“BREAKING | Total verbal agreement between FC Bayern and Joshua Kimmich on a new contract until 2029. There's a green light from the entire Bayern board. The final paperwork is in progress. Contracts are set to be signed this week, with the announcement planned soon." Florian wrote on X.

Kimmich had a three-year offer on the table from Bayern Munich, but the Reds pulled that offer due to the player stalling, which has left his future uncertain. 

Recently, Kimmich had stated to reporters that a decision regarding his future would be made before the March international break. Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that negotiations with Bayern are progressing positively.

Joshua Kimmich reportedly evaluated an offer from Paris Saint-Germain of Ligue 1, but his main focus remained on reaching an agreement with Bayern Munich regarding a new contract. However, no reports indicate that Arsenal made an offer for him.
