In what seems to be a big blow for Barcelona and the national side of Spain, the star footballers Inigo Martinez and Marc Casado have been ruled out of the UEFA Nations League owing to their respective injuries. The duo will not be a part of the Spanish squad taking on the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League game.
Martinez and Casado sustained the injuries during the Sunday fixture between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Martinez is reported to have a knee injury, which might keep him away from action for almost the next two weeks, which means he might be available after the conclusion of the international break.
Marc Casado’s severe injury to keep him out for long
It is going to be a setback for Martinez as he was recalled to the squad after a wait of a few years, and his highly anticipated comeback is now in jeopardy after the injury concerns, he picked up during the Sunday clash against Atletico Madrid. The management has decided to replace Martinez with Dean Huijsen, the marquee defender of Bournemouth.

On the other hand, Marc Casado has also pulled out of the Spain squad due the knee issues and Alex Garcia will be replacing Casado in the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures. The reports also understand that Casado’s knee problem is quite more severe than Martinez’s so it might take a bit more long for the former to make a comeback on the field.
“The pair sustained injuries during Barcelona's remarkable comeback against Atletico Madrid, winning "4-2", which allowed them to reclaim the top spot in La Liga,” revealed Spanish journalist Toni Juan Marti.
“Casado suffered a strong blow to the knee. However, it does not seem serious, although the results of the examinations are awaited, there is optimism but with some caution, while regarding Inigo Martinez, the situation is completely reassuring as described,” he added later.
