Even after their exit in the knockout stages of the MLS playoffs, co-owner David Beckham can take pride in Inter Miami's impressive performance this season. Lionel Messi's significant contributions, totaling 22 goals and 13 assists in just 24 games, have solidified his place in the club's history and propelled them to the playoffs for the first time.

Inter-Miami coach 'unsure' of Messi's future at Miami

Inter Miami head coach Gerardo Martino has expressed uncertainty about Lionel Messi's future with the club after his current contract concludes in the summer of 2025.

Since joining Inter Miami in 2023, Messi has had a significant impact, contributing to the team's successes in winning the Leagues Cup and Supporters Shield, while also becoming the club's all-time leading scorer with an impressive 33 goals.

"I actually don't know how limited [Messi's time in this league] is. There is a question of time passing, but I would not dare to say that it is so short. If you look at the context in which this began, it seems to me that the progress of the club is important." he said.

"The comparison of the last game of last season, back in October, with today's third game in the playoffs and this bitterness that we all have for not having progressed, is clear that the club's objectives have been modified and I think there is no reason for the club not to continue trying next year," he added.
