Arsenal in talks with star Newcastle United midfielder for upcoming season

Arsenal have been in brilliant form in the ongoing season. The Gunners will be in the title race for the final day where they will host Everton and will hope Manchester City who are favourites to win the English Premier League this season drop points at home against West Ham United. Mikel Arteta's side has been one of the most dominant this season in England conceding the least number of goals in the whole league. 

They presently have a wonderful squad depth in the league, but they are looking to make their side more formidable, especially in the midfield area. However, the club is planning to sell seven players in the upcoming summer transfer window, with the likes of Eddie Nketiah, Aaron Ramsdale, Reiss Nelson, Kieran Tierney, Emile Smith Rowe, Nuno Tavares, Alber Sambi and Fabio Vieira. The management has shortlisted some names that they are going to target and are in talks ahead of the window to open. 

Brazilian central midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is one of the targets for the side. The Newcastle United footballer has been one of the finest in the PL in recent years, he has established himself as a crucial footballer for the Magpies. The North London side needs a box-to-box midfielder like him, as after Granit Xhaka left the club they are yet to find a proper replacement for him. 

Where will Guimaraes sign City or Arsenal?

The Magpies will not like to sell the 26-year-old midfielder in the summer window. As per the recent report by CaughtOffside, transfer expert Ben Jacobs stated that there will be a lot of changes that is set to take place with a long list of potential ins and outs at the club in the 2024/25 season. They have performed decently in the season and are on the verge of qualifying for the UEFA Europa League next season. 

City are also in the race to sign the midfielder for the next season along with the Gunners. This transfer will be an important one and a much-awaited one for the fans to watch and enjoy, to see where the footballer ends up next season. The London side have also made an opening bid for 25-year-old midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
