Argentina players who were not involved in Enzo Fernandez' controversial video

The French Football Federation (FFF) claims that a video that midfielder Enzo Fernandez shared on social media depicts them singing a racist song. Chelsea is looking into the claim. Following Argentina's Copa America 2024 triumph over Colombia, Fernandez shared a video of himself and his teammates shouting for the French national team on Instagram.

Fernandez's Chelsea colleague Wesley Fofana has shared the video again on social media along with the comment. The national squad of Argentina is allegedly singing a "racist and discriminatory" song, according to the FFF.

During the 2022 World Cup final, Argentina defeated France during a penalty shootout, and according to reports, some spectators were heard singing songs that were discriminatory during the game.

The French Football Federation also did not start "The president of the French Football Federation, Philippe Diallo, condemns in the strongest terms the unacceptable racist and discriminatory remarks which were made against the players of the French team in the context of a song sung by players and supporters of the Argentina team after its victory in the Copa America and broadcast in a video on social media.

The statement added, "Faced with the seriousness of these shocking remarks, contrary to the values of sport and human rights, the president of the FFF decided to directly challenge his Argentinian counterpart and FIFA, and to file a legal complaint for insulting remarks of a racist and discriminatory nature."

Which Argentina players were not involved in the incident?

Argentina skipper Lionel Messi was not seen at all in the video which was a great sign since he is one of the biggest role models of the beautiful game. Other seniors like Lautaro Martinez, Emiliano Martinez, Alexis Macallister and Nicholas Otamendi were not seen in the Instagram live by Enzo Fernandez. 

Manchester United duo Alejandro Garnacho and Lisandro Martinez were spotted on the team bus during the controversial video but both of them were busy on their phones. Therefore, their involvement cannot be questioned at all and their fan bases have been trying to ensure that.
