Antony in tears after being stretchered off against Fenerbahce

In some difficulty, Antony went down towards the right touchline. The physio was directly on the pitch, but no one knew what had transpired there. After appearing to pull something, Antony returned to the field for a brief period of time but indicated to the bench that he needed to be replaced right away.

With his arms folded across his face, Antony was carried off the field on a stretcher. Noussair Mazraoui trotted over to give him a sympathetic and encouraging head-tap because he was in some distress. He was replaced for the remainder of the game by Amad Diallo. However, the winger could not do much as Manchester United got their third consecutive draw in the UEFA Europa League this season.

Antony set to be sold in the January transfer window?

According to reports, Manchester United has approved Antony, a Brazilian winger, to go on loan during the forthcoming January transfer window. Despite previously excelling in the Eredivisie under Erik ten Hag, Antony has been a massive disappointment for Manchester United since signing from Ajax little over two years ago.

If any offers are made for Antony this winter, it appears that everyone expects him to be able to go on, and this is undoubtedly the wisest course of action for everyone. Since they will believe they have better choices in that region of the field now, United appears to no longer require Antony.

The 24-year-old might have been eager to defend his spot at Old Trafford, but he could be better off accepting that his tenure there has been a flop and moving on to something new. Who might be prepared to take a chance on Antony is still unknown, and it's possible that 

Manchester United will have trouble finding teams keen on such a struggling player. Though it appears that he hasn't heeded Ten Hag's advice earlier in the season, Antony did once appear to be a serious prospect, so there is still a potential that he may change his career.
