While Jon Dahl Tomasson waits for an answer from the winger, Anthony Elanga is still not on leave and has even refused calls from Sweden's manager. After failing to show up for a team dinner after Sweden's 3-0 win over Estonia in October, Elanga was left out of the team ahead of the November international break.

The former Manchester United winger was the only member of the team to miss the event, according to Football Channel sources, which has sparked speculation about his connection with the national team. During a news conference following the squad announcement, Sweden national team head coach Tomasson addressed Elanga's unusual behavior and acknowledged that he hadn't had a direct conversation with the player following the incident.

The Sweden manager said, "You’d have to ask Anthony himself if he’s angry or not, I don’t think I’m the best person to explain his feelings - you’d have to ask him directly.  No, he hasn't called me. Not yet. I tried to call him but we haven't been able to connect. But I'm sure we'll get in touch before the next game. There is a long time to go until then."

Anthony Elanga’s strange scenario with Sweden national team

Even though Tomasson hoped they would talk before Sweden's next game, the mystery around Elanga grew since the football player is still unknown and has not responded to any of his calls.

Tomasson called Elanga's actions "strange" and said that he was perplexed by the absence of contact, but he also acknowledged that there wasn't much he could do about it. "It is a little out of the ordinary, but we are powerless to alter it. The manager surmised that he might have been really busy.

Elanga has made 11 appearances for Nottingham Forest during the English Premier League at this point this season, however he has yet to score a goal. Nuno Espirito Santo's team is in fifth place after 11 games, having gotten off to a great start.
