Nacho Fernandez has left Real Madrid and will join Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah. The Real Madrid captain has disagreements with Carlo Ancelotti. There has been an issue between Ancelotti and the club captain. The center-back has been rifts with the coach since he has not been the first choice despite performing well in matches. The Los Blancos were interested in another one-year extension, but he chose to depart the club. 

The 34-year-old Spanish defender spent 23 years with the club. Nacho was expected to be the last-choice central defense next season. All the others would have come out fit ahead of the 2024/25 season. He has won a joint-club record 26 trophies with Madrid, having joined the club aged 11 and coming through the academy. He has won 6 UEFA Champions League, four La Liga, four UEFA Super Cups, 5 Spanish Cups and 2 Copa Del Rey. 

He played 364 games for the Los Blancos and scored 14 goals for the side. The Spaniard is one of the footballers and is one of just five players with Madrid's Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Dani Carvajal, and Paco Gento to have won six European Cups. Nacho's deal with the Saudi team is rumoured to have a salary of €10 million per year. He already completed his medical examination a few days ago, and the agreement was finalised as well.

Nacho chose Saudi Pro League over the MLS

The center-back is currently featuring for Spain in the UEFA Euro 2024. Though he has played only one game against Croatia and did not feature against Italy. He will be a key member going forward in the tournament with his experience and La Roja will be using full use of his in the knockout games.

He had been previously linked with a switch to MLS but has now chosen to move to Saudi Arabia. Al Qadsiah only gained promotion last season and hopes to challenge the top four teams for the league title. They have the support of the oil corporation Aramco and the leadership of Michel, who is well-known for his football knowledge.
