According to recent sources, Dominic Solanke negotiations between Tottenham Hotspur and AFC Bournemouth are reportedly moving forward. The contract of the 26-year-old striker includes a £65 million release clause that can only be accessed by the "top six English Premier League clubs."
Dominic Solanke is available for £65 million this summer, but Spurs would like to renegotiate the payments. Instead of receiving cash in one big sum, Tottenham would want to have payments spread out over several windows. Although Solanke was not expected to leave AFC Bournemouth this summer, talks are currently moving forward. The attacker was not included in the team's most recent preseason game against Rayo Vallecano.
Solanke was called "deadly" by Scott Parker on Sky Sports after he scored 21 goals for Bournemouth in all competitions the previous season. It's reported that Solanke's previous team, Chelsea, is still interested in both Victor Osimhen and Samu Omorodion of Atletico Madrid, but conversations over those players are moving forward.
In a transfer request to Spurs, Ange Postecoglou emphasized the necessity for a new striker for the team. Four targets have been identified by Tottenham this summer as they evaluate their options under Postecoglou. Santi Gimenez, Jonathan David, and Ivan Toney are reportedly still on their radar.
Jonathan David - best striker option for Tottenham Hotspur?
Jonathan David of Lille has given Tottenham Hotspur more chances of acquiring him after he turned down AS Roma. After scoring 26 goals in the previous season, the Canadian attacker, who has one year remaining on his current contract in France, became linked to several European teams this summer.
In an attempt to lure the 24-year-old to Italy, the Serie A team allegedly extended a contract offer to him. Though he is still eager to get out of Lille, David reportedly rejected the offer, according to L'Equipe. David joined Lille in 2020 after leaving Gent, and he has now been there for four years. With 13 goals in his debut season, he left a lasting impression as the team defeated PSG to win Ligue 1.
