XDefiant have had quite a successful launch, reportedly reaching over one million unique players just a few hours after launch, and over 3 million players within 48 hours after the server issues subsided and retains around half a million concurrent players.

The game is seemingly doing very well and now the executive producer for the game, Mark Rubin, have conveyed an obvious but highly useful advice to players. Rubin want players to aim for the head, which is a standard practice among high level players.

“OK here is the most duh obvious PSA I can give you, but it's also insanely important: HIT THOSE HEAD SHOTS!!!!” Rubin said. He further added, “Takes practice, but that's what this game is about. It wants you to get better”.

This is quite true, as initially, hitting headshots can be quite difficult. However, once players get hold of it, they can be a game changer. Not only does the headshots have increased damage multiplier but also lower the time to kill (TTK) allowing players to transfer the spray to other opponents or get out of harm’s way. So the advice may be obvious, but serious players do need to take this to hear.

A lot more coming in future updates

While the devs have already said that the game will get new maps, weapons and factions in future, Rubin also confirmed many quality-of-life update to the game. One of the users asked if there will be kill cams available, to which he replied that the team is working on it.

Kill cams are quite important as it allows players to see their mistakes and even help to check out if the opponents are cheating. Other QoL updates like kill feed updates, better profile, keyboard and mouse support for console and much more seems to be in work.
