Soniqs take home the PUBG Esports World Cup by a landslide after securing double chicken dinner and multiple second spots on the final day. What started as the opening chicken dinner have now ended with the team lifting the championship trophy after taking down FaZe, TSM and Pero.

The final showdown saw Soniqs against Danawa e-sports, and while the team was not able to end the event how they started, it was a moment of celebration as the team had done enough to secure the championship.

The Esports World Cup, however, isn’t the first rodeo for Soniqs as the team last year secured the PUBG Global Series 2 during Gamers8 2023. This tournament adds a second trophy for the team in Riyadh.

TSM started strong in the final game but faced an early elimination, shattering their dreams of lifting the trophy. FaZe followed behind also with an early exit. The team had several moments where they seem dominating at times with multiple kill count, however, they missed the mark in the final match.

Petrichor Road brings some good action

After barely qualifying for the Grand Finals, Petrichor Road saw some of the most dominating performances across the 12 matches. Despite mission out on multiple chicken dinner, the team managed to climb the top spot for a brief period, sending others into a panic mode.

The final game also saw a strong performance from the team, however, their journey was cut short while Soniqs managed to survive a bit longer. Instead of Danawa e-sports, if PeRo was the one securing the chicken dinner, the outcome would have been different.

This tournament also marks the final event of the two-month-long Esports World Cup, featuring 20 esports tournaments across 18 different games with a total prize pool of $60 million.
