After new bugs and exploits were discovered on one of the Valorant’s current map pools of Split, Riot Games swiftly disabled the map to maintain the game's integrity. This means that the map is unavailable in any game mode apart from custom.

An announcement by Riot revealed that they discovered two different bugs. One was with Cypher’s ability, while the other was an exploit for which Riot did not go into details. The bug with Cypher was not that big deal however, the other one might be a bit game-breaking.

“We will be shipping a fix for both of them in Patch 8.08. Until then, Cypher will still be available to play, but we will be removing Split from the Competitive, Unrated, Premier, Swiftplay, and Spike Rush map pools,” Riot said in their statement.

Most players already knew about the broken boost on A site. Players using characters that can boost up could climb on a wall to get a better view of the attacking team. If they are patient enough to sneak till the end and others do not notice them, the boosted player can easily secure the round.

Alternatively, players could see the attackers marching into a site from unintended angles and gain an advantage. Obviously, this was not allowed or intended by the developers. These types of bugs were also previously discovered, including one of the oldest Jett updrafts on Ascent and one of the latest with Champer’s teleport.

Now What?

Now that the map has been disabled, it will be replaced by Ascent, which is also quite popular among the players, especially at this time when the map rotation is already looking lacklustre. Split will be back soon, like other patches, however, players aren’t complaining about the opportunity to play a relatively better map in their view.
