Sequel for Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles confirmed by SEGA

SEGA just announced the long awaited sequel for Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles, featuring new arcs from the original story and more characters.

The latest announcement from SEGA has now revealed that popular fighting game Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles is getting a sequel in 2025. Set to release across multiple platforms including PS4, PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC, the game is being developed by the same studio, CyberConnect2 and will continue the story from the original game.

Kimetsu no Yaiba or Demon Slayer is one of the most popular manga by Koyoharu Gotouge which was later adapted into anime and movies. The series also saw video game adaptations from SEGA, but for the longest time, there was radio silence.

The most recent teaser give fans a glimpse of what to come. While the original game received a lot of praise, from fans, the general complaint was the addition of more characters from the series. Thankfully, it seems the developments listened, with players getting a glimpse of all 9 Hashiras who will be available as a playable character.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 to continue the story

The single player will have a story continuation from the previous game, with the trailer showing glimpse from different arcs from the series and scenes from the Mugen Train movie. Reports reveal players will be getting the next three arcs in the series, the Entertainment District Arc, The Swordsmith Village Arc, and The Hashira Training Arc.

There is also online PvP in the first game, which will likely make a return. The gameplay in general was similar very similar to DRAGON BALL Sparking ZERO with the campaign, letting players experience the story in a cinematic way while the PvP will pit it against other players.

With The Game Awards 2024 just around the corner, fans are expecting more to be revealed during the event. These include story elements, playable characters, and possibly a release date for the game.
