Sentinels and Leviatán opens up with a win at VCT Americas 2024 Stage 2

Stage 2 for Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 2024 Americas League is now live and the first day of week 1 in the group stage saw Sentinels and Leviatán secure a win against their opponents to gain an early lead.

Leviatán faced MIBR and secured an easy back-to-back win as the opponent was not able to put up much of a fight due to playing with two stand-in players. Rich and Palla from MIBR were not able to compete at VCT due to visa issues, leaving the team with ShahZaM and Pa1nt.

Even replacing a single player can break the flow of the game and team synergy, and with two stand-ins with different gameplay styles, the team did not look like they had much of a chance. The all-Brazilian team was also required to communicate in English, which could further cause issues.

The first match saw MIBR compete well with Leviatán, but the scenario changed in the second half, with their opponents gaining the upper hand round after round. The second match was Leviatán’s pick and was an easy win for them as MIBR was hurting for rounds in the entire first half.

Sentinels follow

Sentinels also showcased a similar win pattern, however, their wins were hard-fought. The team went against NRG, which is also quite popular and features some heavy hitters like s0m. The opening match picked by NRG was secured by Sentinels with relative ease.

Things, took a turn in the second map as NRG pushed everyone to the edge. Sentinels once again secured an insane lead in the first half of the second match, but NRG showcased why these games can be unpredictable. The team made an insane comeback for an overtime run, making the fans worry a bit. Sentinels, however, managed to beat them in overtime.
