The Nvidia RTX 50 series graphics cards launched almost two weeks ago, however, the GPU market hasn’t been very stable. With everything running out of stock, people may have to look for other options, like the latest-gen RTX laptops. In a recent post, Nvidia confirmed that pre-orders for RTX 50 series laptops will begin on February 25.
With an improvement in the software and hardware of the RTX 50 series, the laptop GPUs could be a viable choice. DLSS 4 is a big upgrade with the new Transformer Model and while the multi-frame generation has seen some controversy, it will help gamers squeeze more out of the laptop for a bit longer.
RTX 50 series laptop prices will be much higher
The RTX 50 GPUs were initially revealed during the CES 2025 presentation with the availability of RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070. While they may provide a decent performance boost compared to previous-gen laptops, they also boast hefty pricing.
Top-of-the-line RTX 5090 laptop was revealed to start at $2,899 while the RTX 5070 laptop will set people down $1,299. As usual, the higher end will begin rolling out first in March and the mid-range will be available starting April. People should also note that different manufacturers will price the laptops differently and likely higher than the reveal price.

Are RTX 50 series laptops worth buying?
With all the hype around the new Nvidia RTX graphics cards, it may be worth buying for people who move around a lot. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. There are currently no benchmarks to assess the performance of these laptops.
The laptop GPUs are also a cut-down version of the PC counterpart as it’s impossible to put a full-sized GPU in a laptop without creating several other problems. It is also important to mention that an upgrade from the 40 or 30 series may not be a good choice, on the contrary, the 10 and 16 series will see a significant upgrade.
