Call of Duty Warzone Mobile recently released a major update addressing multiple issues with promises of more game optimization for mobile devices, especially Androids. However, it seems the update was not all sunshine and butterflies.

There are only a few things players hate with a single mindset. These are cheaters and bots (actual AI bots). Players have now been reporting an increased number of bots in their lobbies after the latest seasonal update.

Having bots in game is not a new thing. Many game, including the ones on PC, have bots. They usually occur in Battle Royale or other large scale multiple players and are a great way to keep the lobbies full in case a few players are missing.

However, this becomes a problem when the number shifts a bit too high. A classic example was Battlefield 2042 which had a bad launch, forcing the developers to add bots to the huge lobbies after player count dropped. A similar case might happen with Warzone Mobile, as the game also had a relatively bad launch.

Why are bots a bad thing?

Having bots in a game generally isn’t a bad thing. Bots are generally harmless and have bad aim, they are helpful in lower-rank lobbies to help new players learn about the game and its mechanics. After all, players can’t learn if they die even before landing or shooting a weapon.

On the other hand, the problem arises when they make their way into middle or upper-rank lobbies. Players are complaining that they are getting 5 to 10 bots almost every game, while getting real players after reaching the endgame, taking out all the fun and a sense of achievement.

The official post from CoD Warzone Mobile stated that the game’s matchmaking was adjusted to match players with equal skill after complaints of being matched with skilled players. However, players want to go back to real players' lobbies. “People complained about it being too difficult. I prefer facing 116 other real players than facing more bots,” one of the players said.
