Hope players got over MW3, as a new Call of Duty title is reportedly being revealed at the upcoming Xbox showcase event. For those who are still unaware, Microsoft was recently given the green light for their acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

With a Modern Warfare instalment last year, the upcoming game is set to be in the Black Ops series, called ‘Black Ops Gulf War’. The details regarding the new game release come from Tom Warren, who revealed that Microsoft is planning an Xbox summer showcase with some big revelations.

As per Warren’s report, the company is set to announce a new Gears of War game, reveal the release date for the upcoming Indiana Jones game and much more alongside the new Call of Duty game. Although, an Insider gaming report says that the game will be announced prior to the event.

Will the new CoD title miss its mark once again?

Modern Warfare 3 was in no way and shape a good release for Activision. The story felt lazy, rushed and predictable despite creating so much hype for the return of one of the most iconic villains in the series. Players are even calling it a DLC turned a new game because in order to access the game, players had to open Modern Warfare 2 which was then changed to CoD HQ to launch all CoD games.

The new game on the other hand is also reportedly a multi-studio title like MW3 and will be following the semi-open world story formula like the previous game. This time around, set during the time of the Gulf War.

One good thing being reported is the round-based zombies mode and not the open world zombies, however, that too is still under suspicion by the gamers. To be fair, Call of Duty Vanguard sold over 30 million copies despite getting worldwide criticism. It will come as no surprise if the new game sees the same outcome once again.
