PC Gaming is one that started the gaming industry, and people who can't afford to buy consoles will always buy computers cheaply. The biggest advantage of PC is that players can get cracked versions of games. But people who have gaming consoles should actually buy the game, and they have to upgrade to the new generation of consoles. Console gamers will have access to exclusive games, unlike PC Gamers. If the PC gamers are patient enough, they can actually get a cracked version soon.

MicroTransactions give major revenue

Report says that over 58% of PC gaming revenue comes from microtransactions. Over $ 24.4 billion is spent on these minor transactions in 2024. Call of Duty: Black ops 6, Roblox and Fortnite lead the table via in-game purchases. The DLC also gains revenue, rising from 0.8% from 2023 earning 5.3 billion revenue in 2024. The revenue is now 37.3 billion and is expected to rise till at least 2027. The bad news was the downfall of premium game spending in 2024.

PC gamers like to play free games rather than pay for games. That is why they do more micro transactions to upgrade skins and weapons. The report also finds that gamers are spending more time on games released 6 to 10 years ago, like GTA 5 Online, Fortnite and Roblox. New games that were released less than 2 years ago are seeing a drastic drop in playtime. It is due to the high cost of games and average gameplay.
