Battlefield 2024 received a lot of criticism from fans regarding the gameplay and general direction. With the next game ‘Battlefield 6’ EA promised changes and is bringing back the core gameplay from older games. Alongside that, the game may also see some popular features like leaning or side peeking make a return in the next entry.

As reported by Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, the feature will make a comeback. While it was previously available across old games like Battlefield 5, Battlefield Hardline, and others, players will likely see the modern version allowing them to customize the action more.

While it may not sound like a huge feature or something game-defining, these small things are highly appreciated by the community. Several other features are being tested out to bring back the fun players experienced in past games.

“We are designing something that is more akin to previous Battlefield games. I'd rather have nice, dense, really nice, well-designed play spaces. Some of them are really good. I can't wait for you to see some of them,” said Vince Zampella, head of the Battlefield series, while talking to IGN a few months back.

What is leaning in video games?

Leaning is a relatively new concept in traditional gaming. It allows a player to expose only a small part of the body to the opponent to have a better advantage. Prior to this, the player would have to come completely out of the cover to take the fight.

This can be a disadvantage as it gives others a bigger target to shoot and in case a player is low on HP, any shot can result in a game over. However, while leaning, only a small portion is visible. The new Battlefield game is well under development, and EA has already promised that they will be making things right with the next release.
