After the FTC lost their court battle, Microsoft Corporation has claimed full ownership of game developer Activision Blizzard. The US Federal Trade Commission went to legal war against Microsoft after it bought Activision Blizzard in 2023.
Now, Activision Blizzard is officially a Microsoft company, and the US tech company can take full leadership. The court battle was fought after the US Federal Trade Commission felt that Microsoft had bought the game developer illegally by breaking laws and regulations.
As they went to the federal appeals court, the deal was put on hold, and both of them battled legally. The case was now heard by the court, and they wrapped up by giving full ownership to Microsoft, as there was no evidence of illegally acquiring Activision Blizzard.

Microsoft wins Activision battle
It was a delayed reaction from the FTC, as the deal was already done and dusted by Microsoft. But FTC can still carry out their battle in higher courts, but Activision will now officially be a Microsoft brand. We expect the Federal Trade Commission to end the issue, as the lower courts' order will more likely be justified if they go to the higher courts.
So the $ 69 billion deal is now official, and Microsoft can carry out their operations in the Activision company. The Call of Duty maker will now be a part of Microsoft, and we can expect many Activision games to be exclusive to Xbox.

Activision is one of the biggest game developers, and over the last few years, they have become bigger. Their games include Call of Duty, Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch and Candy Crush. Microsoft's acquisition of the developer is the largest transaction in gaming history.
After buying Activision, Microsoft had requested that Sony sign a deal with Microsoft. They wanted the deal to keep Call of Duty exclusive to Sony rather than Xbox. The PlayStation maker indeed signed a deal keeping Call of Duty exclusive to PS5. Microsoft is also trying a similar deal to bring COD to Nintendo Switch 2 devices.
