Massive ice block in Fortnite melts to reveal Mariah Carey

First appearing as a massive ice block, Fortnite surprised fans with a Mariah Carey collab this festive season. Along with that, Epic Games have also revealed a new promo trailer for the 2024 Winterfest. Mariah is now also available as an NPC after the ice block defrosted, and she popped out singing ‘All I want for Christmas’.

Players looking for her simply have to visit the place where the ice block was previously. Many people even clipped the moment Mariah Carey completely defrosted, screaming "It’s Time" in order to announce her arrival before dancing to the song.

As expected, the new Fortnite collab also brings an emote for her song along with her various outfits, including the one she is weaning as the NPC along other accessories in the item shop. Now that the ice block mystery is revealed, many players wonder if she will leave similarly.

“Winterfest is back for 2024 and, yes, Mariah Carey is here to kick off the celebration. We’re here to spread some cheer with free gifts to unwrap daily, Winterfest quests, a snowy map update, Sgt Winter, gameplay items including Blizzard Grenades, Holiday Presents, a Santa Dogg outfit and more,” the official statement wrote.

Why did Mariah Carey made an entrance from an ice block?

Fortnite bringing Mariah Carey out of an ice block isn’t a coincidence, but an adaptation of a popular meme that has been floating around for some time now. As per the meme, it is theorized that Mariah Carey is inside an ice cube that is defrosting slowly, and she makes an appearance each year during Christmas which is her iconic song.

This comes following the recent adaption of Skibidi Toilet in Fortnite, which also made headlines. Naturally, many fans were annoyed with the general vibe around the collab being mixed. Hopefully, the Mariah Carey collaboration will help players get back into the holiday spirit.
