The life simulation game, InZoi, was heralded as a potential 'The Sims killer' in its build-up to release. While it still might achieve that status, early indications have been mixed. The game sold over a million copies in its first week; however, it also had the unintended effect of boosting The Sims 4, leading to its highest player count in Steam history.

inZoi lost 85 cent of its players

While it's not a new thing for a game to lose players on its initial arrival, in the case of inZoi, the numbers have been really drastic. Players usually make up their minds about whether they will stick to a game or leave it out in the initial days. In the case of inZoi, the majority of its players have decided to quit it.

On its launch day, on March 28, InZoi reached a peak concurrent player count of 87,377, as reported by SteamDB. Two weeks later, the player count reached a maximum of 12,950, marking a decrease of approximately 85 per cent.

Not only the total player count but even the average player count also saw a marginal drop. On March 29th, Zoi, it averaged 63,799 active players in comparison to 10,769 active players, as reported on April 9th.

A report from earlier this year revealed that Marvel Rivals retained its player base, experiencing only a three cent decline over a span of six weeks. In stark contrast, the situation for InZoi has deteriorated, with that game losing 83 cent of its players in just two weeks.

As per recent reports, the new game already stands at the second lowest position out of a table of other popular games like Marvel Rivals, Delta Force, and Once Human. Only Palworld stands behind Zoi in the list.
