GTA San Andreas leads the charge as Trilogy cross 35 million downloads on Netflix

The GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition has now reportedly passed over 35 million downloads from Netflix as per reports. A majority of this number was thanks to GTA San Andreas, which was downloaded over 25 million downloads, while GTA Vice City contributed to almost 8 million. Now we know which game is most popular in the Trilogy.

This revelation came from mobilegamerbiz who reported that a number from Appmagic estimates the number at 36.6 million. The lifetime game downloads for Netflix, have reached over 210 million with other popular titles also contributing. However, GTA San Andreas remains the most popular game in the library.

Breakdown of all GTA game downloads

GTA 3 seems to be the least popular among the trilogy with only 3.6 million downloads, while GTA Vice City double that in comparison with 7.8 million downloads. It is also in the seventh spot in the top 10 games on the Netflix library. GTA San Andreas, however, dwarfs everyone in comparison, sitting at 25.2 million downloads.

But why is San Andreas so much popular? The answer is quite simple. While GTA 3 and Vice City are very popular, they lack a lot of things players are not able to do. For example, in both of the games, players cannot swim, which is a little off-putting. This paired with many other things like less intractable buildings and much smaller maps is also among some of the reasons.

GTA San Andreas on the other hand takes players to the streets with some of the most memorable missions in a single game, a big map, and a vast among of activities to keep players busy. Different type of customizations and a compelling story further adds to the charm. The game also gave birth to some of the most iconic memes.
