Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA 6 will launch in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but no specific release date has been announced. However, the anticipated release window was later narrowed down to the end of 2025. The real worry for PC gamers, though, lies in the uncertainty surrounding the PC port.

Historically, Rockstar Games has a pattern of releasing PC versions of their titles a year or two after their console counterparts. This trend has left PC gamers anxious, fearing they might have to wait until 2026 or even 2027 to get their hands on the game.

One Reddit user, MaxSniffer007, shared this concern, highlighting previous release timelines for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.  The anticipation has left many fans frustrated, with some expressing their discontent on social media. “I HATE waiting for the PC release, but that’s life I guess,” vented RockyRaccoon968, recalling the long wait for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC, which took three years after the trailer dropped.

Will October 2025 be the D-Day?

Despite the prevailing sentiment, some fans hold onto hope that Rockstar might break tradition and release the PC version alongside the console versions. “I still want to believe that due to all the pressure and all this time waiting, Rockstar Games is capable of releasing on all platforms at the same time,” shared a hopeful PhiltheAgony69.

However, until Rockstar makes an official announcement, all these speculations remain just that—speculations. Adding to the chaos, a recent update to GTA 6's IMDb page briefly listed October 27, 2025, as the release date before it was quickly removed.

This slip-up has only intensified the debate, with fans wondering if it was a genuine mistake or a deliberate tease. While an October release would align with the expected fall 2025 window, nothing can be confirmed until Rockstar Games provides an official release date.
