GTA 6 is leaving game publishers scared to finalize release date for games

There is a reason why GTA 6 is already being dubbed as winner for the most anticipated game. Set to release next year, the gamers are definitely going to have a good time, but the same cannot be said for other game publishers. Reports suggest that other publishers are waiting for it as long as it is possible to avoid release near GTA 6.

As revealed by Jason Schreier from Bloomberg, game publishers will be releasing their games around Fall 2025 are waiting as long as possible to check if GTA 6 will make the 2025 deadline or shift into early or mid 2026 as per sources.

Publishers are aiming to keep a significant amount of gap between their games and GTA 6 release. If the release for GTA 6 remains for Fall 2025, the competitors are expected to move their game release into 2026. It is the other way around if there is any delay on the release.

GTA 6 will be the biggest game of 2025

The Grand Theft Auto series have always been iconic and since the last few releases, Rockstar Games have managed to impress fans in every step. GTA 5 is currently the second best-selling game worldwide, with over 200 million sales across various platforms. It is also the fastest selling games, reaching $1 billion in sales compared to any other release.

At the moment, it seems GTA 6 will be the only game able to break this record. With how good Red Dead Redemption 2 hold, up to this day, fan expectations are much higher about the game and only increased by the first gameplay trailer released a year ago.

Speaking of trailer, the community is still optimistic that Rockstar will release the second trailer for GTA 6 before the year ends. Many believe that the trailer might drop at the game awards 2024.
