Gods Reign ranks 138 on Valve Global Rankings for CS2, Revenant Esports on 72

With pro CS2 scene taking a big turn in 2025, Indian teams like Gods Reign and Revenant Esports need to work hard to climb up Valve ranking leaderboard.

Few months back, Valve announced a total change to the competitive Counter Strike scene with the removal of franchise teams. Instead, teams will now have Valve Ranking that will be crucial to enter tournaments. Indian CS2 roster for Gods Reign currently stands in number 138 while Revenant Esports who recently unveiled a new roster stands at 72.

These Valve Rankings will determine which team will receive a direct invite to the later stages of CS Major events. “To reduce the burden on Major participants and streamline the Major qualification process, we’re going to leverage those match results to identify teams that should be invited to later qualification stages,” Valve wrote.

Indian teams need constant grind to improve in pro CS scene

Indian CS teams currently need to work a lot on improving these rankings and will need to be competing on a regular basis if they plan on entering big events. Skyesports recently announced their full schedule for CS events for 2025 which will also be using Valve ranking system, so the teams will need to work harder.

Revenant Esports recently signed old CS veterans like NBK and tiziaN which explains a better ranking. On the other hand, Gods Reign and True Rippers mainly features an all Indian squad. Apart from that, there is currency no representation for India in CS.

HLTV recently added Valve Rankings alongside the formula that is used to determine the team ranking to keep things accurate. Players can still check HLTV rankings but will now have the option to also check out how many Valve points their favourite team has.

In order to earn these Valve points, teams will have to play matches. There are multiple third party events taking place all across the globe thought the year. Based on the type of matches, teams can earn Valve points. This will further encourage teams to take part across many events, which will be in plenty after multiple organizers announced a stacked schedule for the next few years.
