G2 Esports join Heretics and DRX at the Valorant Champions 2024 Playoffs

G2 Esports have now taken down two of their opponents and will now be joining Team Heretics and DRX in the Playoffs. The team was seen dominating Paper Rex and later clashed with EDward Gaming in the Winners Bracket in an intense best of three.

Opening matches against Paper Rex saw G2 gain an upper hand in the first half across both games thanks to Leaf and Trent. As for Paper Rex, the entire team felt off as they failed both defence and attack back to back and have now landed on the Elimination bracket. The team will be facing FUT Esports for one last chance of survival.

Moving forward to the winners' bracket, the team came face to face with EDward Gaming. This one proved to be a bit rough for G2, as the team lost the opening game even after picking it as their advantage match. The next game wasn’t also a walk in the park, as EDward Gaming gave G2 tough competition on their own map, but somehow, G2 managed to prevail and equalize the score.

This brought the game into a decider and as the match started, G2 was looking back ready for action, taking an insane lead in the first half. EDward Gaming managed to put together a few rounds in succession after the second half, but it was mostly back and forth until G2 reached the game point.

Trace Esports sends Leviatán to decider bracket

The other groups saw Leviatán lose an important game in the Winners bracket and have now been pushed to a Decider Match where the team will be facing the winner of Talon Esports vs Team Vitality.

Leviatán’s loss does come as a surprise to all fans, especially by the hands of Trace Esports, who are yet to secure a major win. This situation make things complicated for Leviatán as another loss will result in early elimination from Valorant Champions 2024
