Fortnite has now officially confirmed the Metallica crossover with the upcoming Fortnite Festival Season 4. Epic Games is no stranger to these types of collabs, and the leaks were floating all across the internet. The band is set to be the featured artist for the upcoming festival, and players will see the four legendary artists in a series of live concerts in the game.
“We’ve been lucky enough to perform on every continent on the planet, so we set our sights on Fortnite as our next stop. It’s all happening starting this week, as we’re excited and very proud to be the first band at the centre of all Fortnite experiences with Metallica-themed gameplay,” Metallica wrote in their post.

The concerts will take place over two days, featuring six songs by Metallica. Players will be able to join in even if they are a bit late to the party. Like always, there will be a festival pass with various cosmetics. Alongside that, players will also be able to acquire new cosmetics for all the members.

The concert isn’t the only thing players will see, as Fortnite has also added PvP in the form of Battle Stage, where 16 players will be pitted against each other at a time to compete for the highest score for one of the festival songs that will be chosen randomly.
Players can either earn points by performing or by attacking their opponents to make them scoreless using the built-up Overdrive. The end of each round will see four players eliminated until only the one with the highest score remains as the last man standing.
