The latest Fortnite live event, which set up players in an epic battle against Doctor Doom, noted 5.6 million concurrent players. These live events are a regular thing that clears the way into the next season, but this was something extraordinary. Reports reveal that the entire fight took over an hour as players were bus-chipping away his health pool.
Doctor Doom was one of the central characters this season and was in a war against the X-Men. The final fight did well to showcase how iconic the character is in the Marvel universe. Despite being a pretty simple fight, players were having a great time.

After the fight, Doctor Doom was sucked into the rift, leaving only his mask, rest assured, he isn’t dead and will likely make a return sometime. This was undoubtedly one of the best live events in quite some time, which may not be topped for a while.

What happens next?
For now, Doctor Doom is gone and Fortnite will be heading into the new season. Most recently, fans saw some Halloween teasers featuring Billy the Puppet and Leatherface along with other spooky characters. Rumours regarding the same are now also surfacing.
The upcoming season may feature these characters along with others, or it could simply be a collab. However, given that Halloween is almost here, it would be interesting to see Epic Games abandon the holiday and bring an entirely different themed season.
As of now, there is no official announcement regarding the next season or the Fortnitemares, however, the most recent event has likely won back a lot of fans. There are also rumours of another OG season. The previous run was widely popular, and it makes sense to bring the vibes back.
