During a live stream on July 21, 2024, Twitch and Kick streamer Felix "xQc" made significant allegations against G2 Esports' AWPer Ilya "m0NESY" following the Counter-Strike 2 Esports World Cup Grand Final. The French-Canadian former Overwatch professional was closely analyzing a crucial moment during the competitive series between G2 Esports and NaVi, which took place on the Ancient CS2 map.

The specific incident under scrutiny occurred in round 18 of 24, with G2 Esports narrowly leading NaVi with a score of 9-8. xQc focused on a moment when m0NESY executed a critical sniper shot, eliminating NaVi's Justinas "jL" near the B bombsite staircase. The streamer identified a small hole in the staircase, which he suggested allowed m0NESY to spot JL's position, potentially providing an unfair advantage.

xQc expressed his astonishment at the situation, questioning whether the glitch "still worked" in Counter-Strike 2. He commented, "It still works? Holy s**t! But that works against him because he was locked in, he didn't... guys, we were wondering why he peeked so late and why he moved so weirdly at the top because he was locked on the pixel, he wasn't ready for the shot at the top! Because he (m0NESY) thought he (jL) was going to walk through slowly."

To substantiate his claims, xQc replayed the video in slow motion, highlighting the moment when m0NESY sniped JL. He pointed out that the colour of the pixel within the small hole changed as JL moved, implying that m0NESY's shot was influenced by this visual cue. "Look at this very pixel over there. Look at his lock-in at JL on this one pixel right there. Look! It changes colour. Dude! It does, though!" xQc exclaimed during the analysis.

At the two-hour-three-minute mark of his broadcast, xQc asserted that he had "investigated" the incident thoroughly. He detailed his findings, explaining that m0NESY was using the pixel as a reference point, which locked him into aiming at a specific spot.

xQc elaborated, "Yo, I have investigated. Do you remember earlier when he peeked, right? And we were like, 'Dude?' It's because he was using the pixel and he was completely locked in. He thought he was going to walk through, and he wasn't ready for the shot."
