Keeping up the dominance from group stages, Team Falcons have now made their way into the Dota 2 Elite League after defeating Azure Ray. Currently, the team have a flawless run and only had to play against two opponents to reach the finals.
Azure Ray on the other hand will have to win one more game. The lower bracket finals will see the freshly defeated team go against the onslaught survivor Xtreme Gaming in a best-of-three match-up, also set to take place on April 14.
The interesting part here is that Xtreme Gaming was also previously defeated by Team Falcons at the opening stage of the upper bracket quarterfinals. After dropping to the lower bracket semifinals, the team made their way to the lower bracket final after defeating PSG Quest and Team Liquid and will now face Azure Ray.
Whatever the results may be, one of the teams will be getting another chance to face Team Falcons once again at the Dota 2 Elite League grand finals and fight for the top spot in the $960,000 prize pool.
Azure Ray struggled to gain the upper hand
Considering this was a match between the best Dota 2 teams currently, team Falcons had great control of the match since the beginning. Azure Ray was struggling to secure kills and gain an advantage that left them chasing ghosts in the first round.
The following round saw a slight improvement with Azure Ray, but Falcons still held the upper hand and finished the best of three with a 33-12 score to move into the finals.
This year, as per Liquipedia, Team Falcons have faced, Azure Ray across four different matches. Three out of the four matches. Apart from a single match-up, the Falcons have come out victorious in three, while the remaining one was a draw.
