Everything announced at PlayStation state of play

The PlayStation State of Play September 2024 brought a lot of new announcements including game reveal, release days, gameplay trailers and more. Many of them were already expected by gamers, but PlayStation fans did get to see some interesting news, including a sequel for Ghost of Tsushima and Palworld PS5 release amidst their Nintendo lawsuit.

Here’s everything announced at the recent PlayStation state of play

The Midnight Walk

A new stylized horror game set in a dark fantasy world where players will befriend and travel with a lantern creature. The game looks like a visual eye candy and will be releasing on PS5 and PSVR2 as a next gen game in spring 2025.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 Remastered

One of the surprising announcements, the original Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 and 2 are getting a remaster and will be releasing this year in December. The original game was released way back in 1999 and was a cult classic which no one saw coming.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

The AAA gaming industry seems to be filled with remakes and remaster since the last year, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is adding another one to the list. Releasing for both PC and PS5, the game will see enhanced graphics, although the original was already very good and will have re-recorded dialogue. PlayStation users will have a chance to upgrade for $9.99.

Lego Horizon Adventures

Talking about Horizon, Lego Horizon Adventures was announced during the 2024 Summer Game Fest and will be featuring Aloy and her adventures in a top down with a Lego theme. The game is coming out on November 14 for Nintendo Switch.

Alan Wake 2: The Lake House

The second DLC expansion for Alan Wake 2 will drop players into a secret government facility where some supernatural experiment have gone wrong. Those who have played Control will immediately see the connection. This also forms a great link for the developers that are planning Control 2 for another cameo.

Monster Hunter Wilds release date

One of the most anticipated games of 2025, and the next chapter in the Monster Hunter franchise, finally have a release date. Alongside a new gameplay trailer and a release date set for February 28, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds is now available for pre-order.

Astro Bot DLC

One of the best release of this year and game of the year contender is gracing PS5 players with a free DLC featuring new VIP bots from games like Stellar Blade and Helldivers 2. The update is set to release this fall and will also include a few speedrun levels.

Ghost of Yotei

Possibly the most exciting announcement, Sucker Punch is back in action with a sequel/not so sequel for Ghost of Tsushima. The game is in a similar universe but takes place over three centuries after the original events in a different land surrounding Mount Yōtei. There will a new female protagonist. The game looks as enchanting as the first game. The game will be coming to PS5 in 2025.
