EDward Gaming takes down Leviatán in reverse sweep to reach Valorant Champions 2024 Grand Finals

EDward Gaming becomes the first team to enter Valorant Champions 2024 Grand Finals after taking down Leviatán in a reverse sweep at the upper bracket finals.

Standing strong on their promise, EDward Gaming have now moved on to the Valorant Champions 2024 Grand Finals after defeating Leviatán. While the team did drop one match, they managed to recover very easily and made it clear that this fight for Grand Finals won’t be easy for Leviatán since the beginning.

The defence side in the opening match was on point for both teams, which was also visible during the overtime. Leviatán opened up with a dominating half, with their opponents only managing to secure three rounds. The second half, however, saw them in the same shoes as EDward Gaming forced an overtime.

Overtime saw both teams with an ironclad defence but failing attack side until Leviatán managed to break out of the loop to secure Map 1. This, however, were only getting started for both teams. Leviatán remained one match way, while EDward Gaming had to pull off something big.

A massive comeback from EDward Gaming

After making Leviatán sweat in their own map pick, EDward Gaming saw an extremely successful first half with eight rounds in the bag. Not too great for Leviatán, but the score was certainly beatable, but the second half saw a total shutdown from EDward Gaming, not giving their opponents even a single round.

With equal score on the leaderboard, both teams moved to the decider, which was the first game fans got to see a proper matchup between the two. The first half saw Leviatán with an early lead, but EDward Gaming managed to catch up and equalize the score.

The second half is where things got interesting, as Leviatán quickly reached close to match point. However, EDward gaming successfully stopped the push and secure the match with five back to back rounds to secure the game and move on to the Grand Final. Leviatán moves to the lower bracket final, where the winner will face EDward gaming.
