The Xbox Developer Direct is all set to make some big reveals on January 23. Ahead of that, the release date for one of the most anticipated games coming this year, DOOM The Dark Ages, has been leaked. In a now-removed article from the French website Gamekult, fans found out the game is set to land on May 15, 2025.
Spotted by Alexzan on Resetera, the user reported about the release date after the post accidentally appeared on their RSS feed. The article has since been removed but the headline and intro paragraph were captured in a screenshot by the user who claims the entry remains.
“Subtle as a nail in the gullet (to our great delight), the mediaeval prequel DOOM: The Dark Ages will soon be spilling blood and guts on our consoles, as revealed by the new Xbox Developer Direct this afternoon,” the translated paragraph said. The fans were quite excited to hear the news.

Xbox Developer Direct set to reveal a mystery game
Featuring four games as the main highlight. The three games revealed include Doom The Dark Ages by id Software, possibly the most anticipated game, South of Midnight by Compulsion Games, and Clair Obscur Expedition 33 by Sandfall Interactive.
The last game feature is a mystery that gamers will have to wait a little more to find out. However, the announcement will make gamers happy. As stated by Windows Central's Jez Corden, the mystery game is a ‘new entry in a legendary Japanese IP which has decades of history’.
Early speculations might be easier if it was a game from somewhere else, but sadly, it is from Japan which has a ton of legendary IPs. Fans are putting their bets on a new Persona or Resident Evil title, however, Final Fantasy is also set to land on Xbox consoles.
