Majority of the cheating reports are false! Photograph: (Activision)
Call of Duty’s cheating problem is so widespread that players are reporting anyone who seems suspicious, including console players. The latest report from the Ricochet Anti-Cheat team revealed that over 60% of reports related to cheating were against console players. However, a majority of the cheaters are on PC and these were simply false reports.
The Anti-Cheat team explained that the players wrongly reported simply had an ‘intel advantage’ from using in-game perks or equipment. On the surface, it may seem like they tracked players through walls, but in reality, they just had knowledge about their opponent’s position.
“Over 60% of received cheater reporting in Call of Duty: Warzone have been against console players, for example. Console cheating is possible, but our data has consistently shown it represents an extremely low population of detected cheaters when compared to PC,” the official blog post wrote.
Call of Duty devs to make changes to kill cams
With all the confusion on who’s cheating and who’s not, the developers are planning to help relay better information through the kill cam. “In Season 03, our studios are bringing a big update to the UI of KillCams to better recap the gameplay elements an attacker had active at the time of the engagement,” the report further added,” the anti-cheat team added.

The recap will include details about the player along with the weapon they used and how much damage they inflicted. There will also be information if the players were affected by live-ping or scorestreaks like UAV or if they were simply using an unsuppressed weapon that gave away their position.
Cheating has been a big problem for Call of Duty leading to a massive loss in player counts across PC, and while the devs have promised improvement false reports only waste time that could have been spent identifying actual cheaters. Season 3 for Balck Ops 6 and Warzone promises more improvements but only time will tell how good those will be.
