Verdansk will be returning to Warzone on April 3, along with the Call of Duty Season 3 update. Usually, gamers would be quite excited to see the beloved map return, but given the circumstances, even former pros aren’t confident. CEO of popular esports organisation 100 Thieves, Nadeshot, recently expressed his views in the upcoming update.
“I think the issue is still going to be the hacking and the cheating situation. All these good things that they're doing are null and void if you get on and can't play a real game... a fair game of Call of Duty,” he said, responding to his chat during the stream.
Hackers in Call of Duty will overshadow any good update
Call of Duty fans will swear that the cheaters and hackers are the only reason for the game’s current state. Players can make do with bugs and glitches, which will eventually be fixed; however, hackers will ruin the game for everyone. People made the statement very clear with Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 updates.
Seasonal updates are supposed to bring back the players with new content; however, this wasn’t the case as there wasn’t any visible uptick in the Steam player count. Activision did allow players to disable the crossplay feature so some may have shifted to consoles; however, the situation isn’t too different there.

Will Verdansk and the new season bring back players?
Verdansk is quite popular among players and as part of the Warzone update, anyone will be able to drop in. These include cheaters/hackers. Warzone is free-to-play for everyone and as we know, free games usually have a lot more cheaters. Apex Legends is also facing similar issues along with some questionable decisions from EA.
As for player count, unless there are absolute measures, Nadeshot perfectly described the community's feelings towards the update. Players will log in and play a few matches and if they encounter cheaters on the same frequency, they will stop.
