In a recent X (Twitter) post, OpTic Gaming announced that the organization will be hosting the upcoming Call of Duty League Championship Weekend in their hometown, Texas, and fans are happy to see the org getting back in its groove.
Having the tournament in their home state also gives their team a boost in confidence from the support of local fans who will be visiting the event. Many are even sure that this is OpTic’s time to lift the trophy, as the team missed their chances in multiple tournaments after coming too close.
The event is set to take place from July 18 to July 21 and will feature a multi-million dollar prize pool similar to previous CDL Championship tournaments.
OpTic going all out
With the event backed by a huge name, it was mandatory to have as huge a venue as possible. The event is set to take place at the CUTX Event Center which features a seating capacity of over 7,000. What’s more exciting is that teams will be competing at the centre.
Usually, the matches are played with fans in front, but OpTic seems to be doing something special, allowing fans to get comfortable. However, people do need to secure a ticket in their desired section of the venue, which varies in cost depending on the location.
The lowest ticket prices are in General Admission, going from $29 on opening day to $79 on weekends. Reserved and VIP seat tickets, however, have the same price regardless of the dates, with Reserved going for $229 and VIP for $299.
It seems that OpTic is also celebrating the recent announcement regarding the changes to the team agreement by Activision of eliminating entry fees for the teams, increased revenue from merchandise sales and most significant of all, higher subsidy on these events.
