BGIS The Grind; Week 2 delayed due to server issues

The second week for the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series was set to commence on April 11, however, a technical issue as per the organizers have forced a delay to today’s match towards the end. Week 2 for The Grind will now take place from April 12 to April 15.

In an official post, Krafton India said, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, today's stream has been rescheduled to April 15th. Join us as we continue with the BGIS 2024 The Grind Streams tomorrow from 3:30 PM IST onwards. Thanks for your understanding and patience!”

What caused the delay?

As per the official reasoning, there were multiple server issues. The tech team is currently working to fix all the issues, however, since there was no guarantee how fast the issue will be fixed or not cause any issues during the match, the organizers decided to postpone today’s game to the end of Week 2 matches for a fair game.

Week 2 was set to feature teams like Revenant Esports and Team XSpark, fans of which will now have a few more days to see their favourite team in action. Krafton have apologized to the community for this delay.

Community response

A majority of the community seems to be on board with the idea of delaying the match to another day. After all, no one wants their favourite players to miss out on a perfect match due to server problems. These technical issues are not uncommon and is also not the first time delaying a large-scale tournament.

Few others poked fun, saying if the official organizer have issues during the tournament, having the same issue in the third-party events is also justified. A handful of others took the conversation to an entirely different direction of optimization and cheating.
