Following a huge controversy over the addition of Cadian after being benched by Astralis, the team have now suffered a crushing loss with a 13-0 scoreline against Team Vitality. The team faced a clean sweep in their map pick in the best-of-three. As expected, Vitality once again dominated the following match to move into the winner's bracket.

This also marks the first time Nicolai "Device" Reedtz, the four-time CSGO major holder, faced a 13-0 defeat. Astralis was once a dominating force in the pro-Counter-Strike scene, however, this does not change the fact that they faced the current second-best team in CS2.

On the other side, Team Liquid has now sent Team Spirit tumbling down the loser's match with Astralis. This was a strange result and many fans who were joining that Liquid will take home the victory were left shocked after they did it.

The opening did not give much confidence, with Team Liquid losing with a 3-13 scoreline. However, the following two matches were a total turnaround with the team taking a massive lead in the first half, making a reverse sweep on Team Spirit.

The Astralis controversy

A few days ahead of BLAST Fall Finals, Astralis reported that Alexander "br0" Bro was unfit to play, requesting a roster swap. This allowed the team to sign Casper "cadiaN" Møller for the event, however, as per the manager for br0, his medical condition was fine.

Protesting the act, the IGLs for other competing teams started posting on X saying, “I might be unfit for Blast Media tomorrow,” and did not attend the media day following no action from BLAST. Other players on the team also commented on the situation, saying it wasn’t a good look for the organizers.
