Protest against Nintendo's too much pricing?
But this is not the only crowd gathered in the US, there are also thousands of anti-Trump protesters gathering across 1200 locations in the United States. They are protesting against US president Trump's policies, and one of those locations was New York. Many videos are surfacing on social media that show anti-Trump protestors raging inside the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience Event in New York City. There were also news reports saying the protestors were there because of the new Nintendo Switch 2 pricing.

But the protest in New York looks coincidental and has nothing to do with Switch 2's price. Earlier this week, Nintendo announced it is delaying the Switch 2 console pre-orders as Trump implemented fresh tariffs against all countries. This new tax will also increase the price of gaming consoles and upcoming games. So, Nintendo is waiting to see how it goes before its official launch in June. Many players have already raised concerns regarding the Switch 2 consoles' high pricing, and these new tariffs could increase it even further.
The ESA has already warned that the tariffs could impact the gaming industry heavily by increasing prices and job losses. Many game developers have already invested hugely in bringing new consoles and games. These tariffs could halt development, and even if it comes, it could put a large hole in people’s pockets. Gamers could lose interest in gaming due to the high costs, and they could take up some other sports for their leisure activities. There is more danger lying ahead for the gaming industry moving forward. Developers must take some action before it is too late.
