The new AMD GPU Radeon 9070 graphics will arrive sooner than expected, but the card may only be available in China. The RX 9070 GRE is based on the AMD Navi 48 chip, similar to the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT chips.

It will have a 192-bit memory bus and 12GB GDDR6, which is a step down from the original 256-bit and 16 GB of the 9070 variants. So it will be cheaper than the 9070 and 9070 XT, with prices like $549 and $599.

AMD RX 9070 Specs

It will be priced against the Nvidia RTX 5060 TI, which starts at $379 for the 8 GB version and $429 for the 16GB version. This will put an edge on the 9070 GRE, as it is a faster processor. But the only plus for Nvidia is that it comes with ML upgrades with its latest DLSS 4 upscaler.

The only downside for the Radeon 9070 is that it may end up only in China, and the rest of the world needs to wait a little bit more to get their hands on the GRE. This will launch in the fourth quarter of 2025. The Taiwanese manufacturer also utilised two 8-pin power connectors and a minimum requirement of a 650 W-rated PSU.

Intel, AMD and Nvidia are battling for a low-price chip with high performance and efficiency. The three iconic brands are evolving into AI chips that will be the future of the GPU market. Particularly, Nvidia and AMD have invested heavily in AI technology to have an edge over the rest of the tech brands.

But most of the brands will first launch their products in China, followed by the rest of the world. Before that, the pricing of the new chip should be right, and only then can it be appreciated in the mass markets. The price will be decided based on their competitors from Nvidia and Intel.
