Intel has now teased a new variant of its BattleImage gaming graphics. This could be launched to counter the newly released $ 400 Nvidia RX 5070 high-performance GPU. Intel’s latest Arc B580 and B570 are based on the BMG-G21 chip.
The G31 GPU will be the next-generation battle image chip with 32 EUS. Of that, 20 EU will be from the existing Intel Arc B580. It will be 50% faster than the existing Nvidia 5070 and AMD Radeon RX 9070. However, we are not guaranteed to get this chip as a retail unit.

This card is listed as an R&D material, and many chips could be developed from this GPU. Most of the chips that were sold in retail are initially a research and development item, and this chip could be sold as Intel Arc B770.
If the chip is really sold in the retail market, it will be at a competitive price, which will be lower than Nvidia and AMD chips. The performance of these GPU is expected to be on the higher side, and at last it's an Intel product.

The chip should be launched sometime this year, and it will rival Nvidia and AMD chips in the $500 GPU category. We also expect the same from AMD and Nvidia by the end of 2026 or early 2027. The Intel B580 has many new promising features, like Strong ray tracing, Intel’s XeSS upscaling technology.
As the B580 and B570 are aggressively priced, we could also expect the same from the G31 board. It is only aimed at countering the RTX 5070 around $400. But we have to wait to test the complete performance of the Intel chip against the RTX.
There are also many unlaunched Intel Arc cards based on the G21 chip with 24 GB of memory and clamshell arrangements. If their prices are right, then they could launch the chip straightaway without worrying about their rivals.
